Practicing for the Econs Ball

On Monday, 13th Oct, Zufar approached Me and Riz to play for the Econs ball that was to be held that following week on Friday. We thought it would be worth a shot and what the hell, opportunities like these don’t come very often. We started our practice the next day, and I honestly did not think that playing in a band required so much effort. We practiced for about 7 hours on a single song, trying to harmonize and synchronize our individual parts in the music. Our first song was to play an acoustic version of Maroon 5's, “Won’t go home without you”, a decently easy song to play. I played the rhythmic, and boy did my fingers hurt, it was pretty sore… I hadn’t touched a guitar in ages, yet alone played in a performance! My guitar skills are pretty much at noob level so to speak.. I’m not worthy!! : ( Riz played the Bass, and Zufar was on the lead. I was meant to play the drums, but the Econs Department didn’t have the budget to rent one just for a single band performance.

Zufar teaching me the chords

Riz, on the Bass (Poser sial)

Jon, being a professional.. ellehcheh hahaha

By the end of our jamming session, we were friggin exhausted,  disorientated, dazed, and all the other adjectives you can think of after 7 hours of instrumental power play! I was already lying on the floor drained, and thinking, shit, I have to study for my friggin quiz on Friday.. Im going to be so screwed, oh well.
